Black History Month Flag Raising Ceremony Cleveland City Hall Rotunda February 6, 2016
Members of the Underground Railroad Society, Coalition for a Better Life, dba Peace in the Hood and other community organizations gathered at the Rotunda of Cleveland City Hall for the 42nd annual Black History Month Flag Raising Ceremony.
Begore marching to the City Hall steps to see the African flag raised above City Hall, people gathered and spent time at the Black History Month exhibits.
Amir Khalid A. Samad CEO of Peace in the Hood Inc. gathered the crowd to the front of the stage to talk about the intergenerational message.

He invited the community elders to sit and the younger people, the next generations, to stand behind them.
In this short video, Khalid Samad spoke of the intergenerational theme of the ceremony and how we should learn from the elders who have been through so much. That coincides with their motto "Each one, teach one. Each one, reach one."
