Outside the Church is a monument to Armenian Martyrs. On April 24, 1966, a granite monument was dedicated on the church grounds to commemorate the 1.5 million Armenians who were massacred by the Turks between 1915 and 1918. An annual requiem service takes place before this monument each year on April 24 or the Sunday closest.
