Cleveland OCA Dragon Dance Team 2018 Cleveland Asian Festival May 20, 2018
OCA – Asian Pacific American Advocates, Greater Cleveland chapter is a membership-driven, non-profit, non-partisan civil rights and educational organization. Formerly founded as the Organization of Chinese Americans in 1973, OCA is a national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans.
The OCA Greater Cleveland Chapter serves the continually growing Asian Pacific American community of Northeast Ohio and works to promote cultural heritage, active participation in civic and community affairs, securing justice, and equal treatment and equal opportunity for all Americans of Asian Pacific Islander descent.
The Cleveland OCA Dragon Dance Team had their first ever performance at a Cleveland Asian Festival and has been performing there ever since.
Before their 2018 performance, Wayne Wong of the Cleveland OCA Dragon Dance Team explained the history of the team. He told the differences between a Dragon Dance and a Lion Dance and explained the symbolism of the Dragon Dance.

They then marched down Payne Avenue to the Lantern Stage
