German-American Cultural Center
Cleveland Donauschwaben Summer Oktoberfest August 17, 2012
The German-American Cultural Center is home to the Cleveland Donauschwaben (Danube Swabians) ethnic group. The Donauschwaben are a German ethnic group that primarily immigrated to America following World War II and created a society to celebrate their traditions and language.
A summer Oktoberfest weekend was held August 17-19, 2012 at the Center.
Meteorologist Scott Sabol of Fox 8 TV Cleveland did the honors and tapped the first ceremonial keg to open Donauschwaben's annual summer Oktoberfest in Cleveland at the German American Cultural Center.
