St Patrick's Day 2009
The traditional Saint Patrick's Day Mass at St. Colman in Cleveland was special in 2009. A week earlier a surprising announcement came from the Bishop that Saint Colman's was scheduled to close and merge into St. Stephen's parish.
The Rev. John E. Manning, Pastor of St. Vincent DePaul was main celebrant at Mass.
As the Mass program stated:
The Irish in America celebrate more than Spring. More than the wearin' o' the green. We celebrate the faith of our forefathers in this free and generous land. We challenge our children to keep that faith, to build a better tomorrow. We invite our friends to rejoice in the achievements of our heritage, and we pray for peace with justice in Ireland and everywhere.
