Ambassador Adrian Vierita presented his credentials to President of the United States, George W. Bush on January 22, 2008. Prior to his current assignment, Adrian Vierita served as State Secretary for European Affairs with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since July 2006. Between 2002 and 2006, he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Federal Republic of Germany.
The Cleveland Council on World Affairs (CCWA) and the Romanian American Chamber of Commerce presented a Keynote Address by Ambassador Vierita titled 'Romania and the United States at 130 years: Values, Partnership, and Vision.'

2010 marked the anniversary of 130 years of diplomatic relations between Romania and the United States. Ambassador Vierita spoke about the state of the bilateral Romanian-American strategic partnership, with highlights on the foreign policy, security and economic perspectives. He shared his views on why Romania matters for the United States in the current global interconnected world, and how Romania’s NATO and European Union membership as well as its competitive market, vibrant society and rich cultural heritage open up tremendous opportunities for increased bilateral exchanges.

Following the keynote address was a Symposium on Romania: Investment Opportunities, and Collaborations in Developing Renewable Energy organized by the Romanian American Chamber of Commerce.
