The Consul General of the Republic of Slovenia Mr. Andrej G. Rode hosted a reception in Honor of His Excellency Dr. Miro Cerar Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Slovenian National Home in Cleveland Ohio. Slovenian Ambassador to the US Stanislav Vidovic also attended.
In this first video, Prime Minister Miro Cerar and Ambassador Stanislav Vidovic and their group enters the Slovenian Home. After a welcome by MC Joe Valencic, president of the National Polka Hall of Fame, the Slovenian Chorus Fantje Na Vasi led the singing of the US and Slovenian national anthems.

Next, Joe Valencic gave a brief history of Slovenians in Cleveland and the US and the relationship with the Republic of Slovenia.
Next, Joe Valencic introduced the evening's host Consul General Rode who spoke to the crowd.

Valencic then introduced Slovenian Ambassador to the US Stanislav Vidovic. Joe also mentioned that Slovenia is the European Basketball champion.

Next, Joe Valencic introduced Prime Minister Dr. Miro Cerar who spoke to the crowd.

The Slovenian Chorus Fantje Na Vasi performed 2 songs to conclude the formal program.

People then enjoyed Slovenian wines and appetizers and desserts, including potica, as the mingled with the Prime Minister, Ambassador, Consul General and others.
