Farewell Ceremony Athletes 2024 Pan-American Masters Games Mall C - Downtown Cleveland July 21, 2024
Cleveland was the proud host of the 2024 Pan-American Masters Games from July 12-21, 2024. The 2024 Pan-American Masters Games featured athletes from 6 continents, 48 states and more than 70 countries. Participants competed in 24 medal-contending sports. On the final day, athletes competed in the final events (10k, etc.) and then gathered for a Farewell Celebration and to received their medals.
Here is just a quick video sample of some of the winners stepping to the podium.
One of my favorite moments was talking to a 76 year old athlete named Keryl. Keryl just completed the 10K race and what makes it more impressive is that she is legally blind and ran with a guide. Wow.
Here are some of the other athletes from the Farewell Celebration.
Everyone wanted to pose at the Legacy Mural and Junaid race cars.

It was a bittersweet moment as the thousands of athletes and visitors who had been competitors and companions for 10 days headed back to their homes. Many would meet again in 2025 in Taipei Taiwan.
One thing for sure. Thanks to the hard work of the Cleveland PAMG team led by David Gilbert and Rachael Stentz-Baugher, all the visitors had a great time in The Land. We can't wait till they come back for a visit.
