2024 Pan-American Masters Games Welcome Celebration
Cleveland, OH USA July 13, 2024
Cleveland was the proud host of the 2024 Pan-American Masters Games from July 12-21, 2024. A major event of the International Masters Games Association, the Games offer an opportunity to showcase competitive spirit and athletic ability of masters athletes on a global stage. Thousands of athletes from 6 continents (sorry Antarctica), 48 states and more than 70 countries came to Cleveland in a celebration of health, vitality, friendship and an active lifestyle at any age. Participants competed in 24 medal-contending sports including track and field, tennis, basketball, archery, volleyball, pickleball, softball, baseball, rowing, squash, table tennis, badminton, karate, cycling, curling, triathlon and more.

The Welcoming Celebration on Saturday July 13, 2024 included a parade of Athletes from Cleveland's Public Square to Mall C for the ceremony. Before the Parade athletes gathered on Public Square by sport. You might wonder about the Liquid Death cans that many people are drinking from. It's not beer, it's water. The aluminum cans are made from 70% recycled materials while plastic water bottles are only 3%.

Athletes were given cowbells and the ringing could be heard throughout the city for the next 10 days. This video pans some of the thousands of athletes and you will catch a glimpse of iconic Cleveland features such as the Terminal Tower, Tom L. Johnson statue, Soldiers and Sailors Monument and more.
