Glenville's Got Talent World on Stage Concert Cleveland Cultural Gardens Centennial Plaza July 18, 2024
Every summer the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation hosts a series of free World on Stage concerts at the Centennial Peace Plaza on MLK Blvd. in Cleveland. On July 18, 2024 there was a Community Celebration with the Famicos Foundation and the 2nd annual Glenville's Got Talent competition.
The evening began with welcomes from Lori Ashyk, Executive Director of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation and Erica Burnett, Famicos Foundation Director of Community Building & Engagement.

Erica introduced the MC, Shughova.

He explained the event and introduced the first act - 2 young guys dancing and singing.

Three other performers then competed - a singer, comedian and poem interpreter.
Next was a performance by the Warrensville Heights High School Marching Machine band. We caught up with Warrensville Heights HS Band Director Donshon Wilson. Mr. Wilson is an Internationally-acclaimed Band Director with decades of experience and a long list of accomplishments including 25 years of K-12 leadership. As a band director, Mr. Wilson has taken students to perform at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, National high school band competitions, 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers Championship Parade and performances with many notable figures including Common, Brandy, and President Barack Obama. Mr. Wilson previously led the Mighty Shaw High School Marching Cardinal Band at East Cleveland. Watch the video of the interview.
