The Lunar New Year or Spring Festival is commonly referred to as Chinese New Year, Tet in Vietnamese, Seollal in Korean, Losar in Tibet, and Tsagaan Sar in Mongolian.
On February 10, 2024, we entered the Year of the Wood Dragon.
The Dragon is a majestic and lucky creature in Chinese folklore, symbolizing bravery, creativity, and innovation. According to the Chinese horoscope, 2024 is a year full of potential and opportunities for personal growth, professional success, and social impact.
Dragon people are said to be charismatic, ambitious, adventurous, and fearless. They have confidence, independence, and vision. They are not afraid to pursue their dreams and goals.
Those born in 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024 are considered Dragons in the Chinese zodiac but only those born in 1964 and 2024 are Wood Dragons.
Margaret Wong and Associates, OCA Greater Cleveland, ASIA Inc. and Erie Chinese Journal and others hosted a celebration at Asia Plaza. There were performances, information booths, free resources, and, of course, food!
Asia Plaza was full of people who enjoyed authentic food such as dim sum inside Li Wah restaurant, specialty eggrolls from Blasian Fusion food truck, a Taste of the Philippines from the Parilya food truck, Central Asian food from the Himalyan Restaurant and authentic Hong Kong Style bubble waffle from Ball Ball Waffle.

The main stage had a variety of performances such as the Cleveland Glory Waist Drum Team.
