Zumbercani Tamburitza Orchestra World on Stage Cleveland Cultural Gardens Centennial Peace Plaza - MLK Blvd. September 7, 2024
The Cleveland Cultural Gardens hosted a World on Stage Concert event in the Centennial Plaza on Saturday September 7, 2024. It featured acts from 3 continents - Bollywood from India (Asia), the Black Beanz from Uganda, Tanzania and Congo (Africa) and the Zumbercani Tamburitza Orchestra from Croatia (Europe).
As the Tamburitza group was setting up, event MC Dan Hanson told a little about the Croatian Cultural Garden including the Immigrant Mother statue designed by Joseph Turkaly.
Then Cookie, one of the band members, spoke about the group which began in 1997 and feature music from the NW region of Croatia. She explained the different stringed instruments in the Tamburitza family and then introduced the first song - a "Let's raise a glass' drinking song of welcome.

Zumbercani Tamburitza Orchestra at World on Stage
Next was a "Ladies Song" where a woman tells her lover what a woman wants.
This is a Romantic Song where two lovers break up but one does not want to let go.
This is a song about lovers walking hand in hand talking about their future. It's performed A Capella.
Next was a song about secret love.
This is a song that was popular during the Croatian team's 2nd place finish in the 2018 Soccer World Cup.
This is the grand finale instrumental song. As they left the stage, MC Dan Hanson shared some facts about Croatia.
At the end of the evening, performers from all 3 groups gathered for a group photo on stage.
