The French Cultural Garden, one of almost 40 ethnic heritage gardens in Cleveland Ohio, held an event and ribbon cutting to showcase the progress being made in the Garden. Friends and supporters gathered at the Cleveland Museum of Art for a special presentation in conjunction with the opening of a new exhibit, "Monet in Focus" which includes five Monet paintings. The presentation was given by Heather Lemonedes Brown, CMA curator of modern European art.

Monet in Focus features five paintings by French Impressionist Claude Monet, created during the latter half of the artist’s life when he fully immersed himself in capturing the momentary effects of light and atmosphere on his subjects. Daring in their conception and execution, they also affirm Monet’s status as one the most innovative and poetic painters of his era. The exhibition is on view in the Julia and Larry Pollock Focus Gallery from March 31 to August 11, 2024.
It's important to see the works of art in person if possible as the web images don't do them justice.
Rouen Cathedral, Sunlight Effect, End of the Day, 1892.
Water Lilies, 1907
Japanese Bridge
Water Lilies (Agapanthus)
Gardener's House at Antibes
Unfortunately I couldn't use the flash or tripod so it was dark, shaky sometimes and lots of background noise for the video (below) of Ms Lemonedes' tour but you will get a taste and some info on 4 of the 5 pieces on display: Gardener's House at Antibes, Rouen Cathedral, Sunlight Effect, End of the Day, Water Lilies, 1907 and the huge Water Lilies (Agapanthus). We didn't catch the 5th painting, Japanese Bridge. Watch below.
The exhibition is on view in the Julia and Larry Pollock Focus Gallery from March 31 to August 11, 2024.
