The Consul General of Greece in Chicago Emmanuel Koubarakis visited the Greek Cultural Garden in Cleveland Ohio on July 2, 2023.
A ceremony was held beginning with remarks by Lou Frangos, President of the Greek Garden Association of Cleveland.

Lou then introduced former Ohio State Representative Jim Trakas as the MC.

Jim then introduced Fr. James Doukas who gave an invocation.

Then members of the Ermidis family led the singing of the national anthems of the US and Greece.

MC Jim Trakas told about some of the accomplishments of Greeks and Greek culture. Jim gave a very nice shoutout to Dan Hanson and ClevelandPeople.com for creating a record of all the ethnic activities in Cleveland and NE Ohio.
Jim then introduced Jonathan Cambouris, President of the Hellenic Preservation Society, who spoke first in Greek and then in English.

Then Dr. Wael Khoury, president of the board of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation, spoke about the 35 (and growing) gardens.

In his closing remarks MC Jim Trakas spoke of the ideal of Hellenism and how it affected the founding fathers of the United States.
