Convencion Hispana 2024 Hispanic Roundtable Cleveland Max S. Hayes HS 2211 West 65th Cleveland September 21, 2024
The Hispanic Roundtable (HRT) is a nonprofit, totally volunteer community organization that works to ensure that the needs and perspectives of the Hispanic community are known and addressed. HRT’s principal activity has been a community convention held every three years where the entirety of the Hispanic community is invited and involved. Every Hispanic organization is asked to identify its top agenda items. From that, a community agenda is developed and resolutions related thereto are passed. Between conventions, HRT assists in implementing the agenda, through its influence, advocacy, relationships, and leadership.
The 2024 community convention was held Saturday September 21, 2024. It featured a Naturalization Ceremony, workshops for immigration, financial and medical advice, Student contests, health screenings, a resource fair and more. The keynote presentation was a conversation between HRT co-founder José C. Feliciano and EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) winner Rita Moreno.
We caught up with José Feliciano and in this interview Jose explains the Convencion with the help of his grandson. He also tells about an upcoming Candidates Night presented by the Hispanic Roundtable on October 10 at La Sagrada Familia Church. Adelante!
