There was a surprise celebration to say farewell to Slovenian Consul General Alenka Jerak whose term of service in Cleveland Ohio was coming to an end. It was held on Thursday June 13, 2024 at the Slovenian National Home on St. Clair in Cleveland Ohio.

This is a video of Consul General Alenka Jerak entering the Slovenian National Home and walking through the crowd and giving remarks. She also introduces her successor who will be taking over in August.
The event started with the US and Slovenian national anthems.
This video includes the Slovenian anthem and then remarks and speeches from: Nicky Sulandari, Joe Cimperman, Cedric LeRouge, various Slovenian community members, Kenny Yuko, Councilman Michael Polensek, Neja Turk and Alenka Jerak herself. She received a standing ovation from the crowd.
During the social time after the program, members of the band Festa Bend performed. Here is a video of their performance of the Slovenian song Ostanimo prijatelji which translates to Let's Stay Friends.
