Cleveland Rotary honors United Ukrainian Organizations of Ohio Windows on the River - Cleveland February 23, 2023
The Rotary Club of Cleveland held its annual International Fellowship Day on Thursday February 23, 2023, one day before the 1 year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. They honored the United Ukrainian Organizations of Ohio.

Rotary President-elect Jessica Hanes welcomed the large crowd which included many guests from the international communities.

She then introduced Sue Nelson the Founding Director of The Job Search Center. Ms. Nelson told how refugee status and war had affected her own family for generations demonstrating that the effects of war linger in families for generations.

Next, Cleveland Rotary President-elect Jessica Hanes gave some background on Rotary and the International Fellowship Day and brought greetings from the Rotary Club of Kiev, Ukraine.

Yunus Badat, chair of the Cleveland Rotary International committee, and Ingrida Bublys, Honorary Consul to the Republic of Lithuania, presented the award to UUOO President Marta Liscynesky Kelleher.

Ingrida also presented proclamations from Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and others as well as a special letter from former US Senator Rob Portman. (video below)

After a brief slideshow of local Ukrainian events, UUOO President Marta Liscynesky Kelleher gave her acceptance remarks which included a timeline of the events starting one year before.

The audience gave her a standing ovation in support of UUOO and the people of Ukraine.
