The annual Ukrainian Independence Day event was held at St Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral.

The event began with an invocation.This was followed by the Presenting of the Colors and the singing of the national anthems of the United States and Ukraine.
Dr. George Jaskiw, president of the United Ukrainian Organizations of Ohio, took over as MC and introduced several dignitaries for their remarks.
