Ukrainian Independence Parade Ukrainian Village - Parma Ohio August 24, 2024
United Ukrainian Organizations of Ohio hosted a parade on Saturday August 24, 2024 to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's independence. The Parade marched through Ukrainian Village in Parma, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland with a very large Ukrainian population.
Ukrainian Village was founded in 2009 and is located in the heart of the City of Parma. Their mission is "To preserve, empower, and advance Ukrainian Village as a thriving neighborhood by celebrating the culture and heritage of Ukrainian Americans and to collaborate with the City of Parma in creating business and economic development within its boundaries."
The 2024 Parade was the largest ever with over 50 units. Roman Fedkiw is Chairman of the Ukrainian Village Committee and served as Parade MC.
